Resolution of United States Federal Income Tax and Estate (Inheritance) Tax Issues:

Advice and counsel for both U.S. citizens and non U.S. citizens concerning compliance with the requirements of the U.S. Internal Revenue Service and the U.S. Department of Treasury including:

  • Responding to Part III “Foreign Accounts and Trusts” of Schedule B “Interest and Dividends” to Internal Revenue Service form 1040;

  • Circumstances under which a taxpayer is required to file TD F form 90-22.1 “Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts” and guidance with respect to proper completion of the form.

  • Voluntary disclosure of the existence of non U.S. based financial accounts, reporting of the income generated by such accounts and computation of tax and other payments due thereon;

  • The potential impact on the taxpayer of the foreign (non U.S.) account tax compliance provisions of the HIRE act signed into law by President Obama on March 18, 2010 including provisions for increased disclosure by foreign financial entities of account owners.
